Clearing a Windows 7 Print Queue

Win7_Ultimate_webProblem: You have a print job that you want to cancel. You cancel it or delete it, but it doesn’t go away. You try to Cancel All Documents. Rebooting the computer doesn’t help. Power cycling the printer doesn’t help.

Solution: Follow these simple steps to clear your Windows 7 Print Queue.

  1. Open the Start Menu.
  2. Type Services. Click the icon that looks like some gears as seen highlighted in the screen shot below.
  3. Right-click on Print Spooler and select Restart.
  4. Any print jobs that you deleted should disappear and the next queued job waiting to print should start.

Type Services on the Start Menu to find the Services program
